Thinking about putting your own brand on powder puffs? Smart move — it’s one of the cheapest brand-building SKUs in beauty, and you don’t need a factory of your own to do it. Over the years, I’ve answered the same seven questions from new brands. After this post, you’ll have the answers too.
Private-label powder puffs usually start at 5,000 pieces per design. Your logo is printed on the satin ribbon in skin-safe ink, puff colors are matched to your Pantone or reference photo, samples arrive in 5–7 days, and bulk production takes about 25–35 days after your artwork is approved.
Below, I break each question down — including the artwork files that actually work, why quotes swing by 30%, and the three mistakes that push orders back by weeks.
What Does “Private Label Powder Puffs” Even Mean?

Before we get into the questions, let’s make sure we’re talking about the same thing.
Private labeling a puff means you buy blank puffs from a factory like ours and brand them. You’re not inventing a new material or paying for a custom mold on day one. You pick a shape, pick a color, put your logo on the ribbon, and put it in your packaging.
Simple. But there are a few knobs you can turn — and knowing what they are saves you a lot of back-and-forth emails.
What Can You Actually Customize?
- Shape: round velour, triangle wedge, heart, or a fully custom cut.
- Color: puff body and ribbon, matched to your palette.
- Logo: printed on the satin band — the one everyone sees.
- Packaging: from a plain polybag to a custom-printed box.
What Decides Your Price?
Your quote mostly moves on four dials: the shape (a custom heart cut costs more than a stock round), the material (velour vs. cotton vs. mesh cushion), the number of logo colors, and the packaging. Two brands can sell “the same puff” and pay 30% different prices — for no other reason than their spec.
Your 7 Questions, Answered
1. What’s the Minimum Order Quantity?
In our factory, the typical minimum is 5,000 pieces per design, or 5,000 sets if you’re bundling puffs with brushes and a bag.
Why 5,000? Because ribbon gets cut from a roll, screens get made per logo color, and tiny runs make no one money — including us.
2. How Does My Logo Get Onto the Puff?

Almost always on the satin ribbon, not the velour body. The ribbon is flat, so the print stays crisp and doesn’t bleed into powder. We use skin-contact-safe ink, so it’s safe against cheeks all day.
One-color logos print cheapest and look cleanest on a thin band. Multi-color art on a small ribbon? It can be done, but like a tiny tattoo, it will look muddled. Keep it simple.
3. What Artwork Files Should I Send?
Here’s the #1 way orders get delayed: sending a screenshot.
Send us a vector file — AI, PDF, or EPS, with fonts outlined. A JPG or PNG pulled from your website will print like a potato stamp, because raster images break apart when scaled. Add your Pantone code (pantone.com) if you have one. No Pantone? No panic — a clear reference photo works, we match by eye.
4. Can I Get Custom Colors?

Yes, and this is where private label gets fun. Give us a Pantone number or a reference photo (that mint-green puff from your last brand deck), and we’ll match the puff body and ribbon to it.
There’s a small tolerance — think “same color family, not a forensic match.” If you need spot-on, we ship a physical color swatch before bulk production.
5. How Long Do Samples Take — and Do They Cost?
7 days to your door by express.
Samples usually carry a small fee that gets credited back when you place the bulk order. Think of it as buying certainty: holding the puff in your hand tells you more than ten emails ever will.
6. What’s the Lead Time for a Bulk Order?
About 25–35 days of production after your artwork is approved and the deposit lands, plus another 5–7 days by express courier to most countries.
One pro tip I owe you: if it’s January, check the calendar twice. Chinese New Year shuts factories down for a couple of weeks every year, and ordering right before it means your puffs take a nap in our warehouse while everyone visits family.
7. What Certifications Should I Ask About?
If you’re selling to retailers in the US or EU, ask for: skin-contact ink test reports, latex-free mesh (for cushion puffs), and — if “organic” or “clean beauty” is part of your brand claim — GOTS or OEKO-TEX certification. We supply these on request; brands that don’t ask usually regret it at the retail audit.
The 3 Mistakes That Slow Your First Order
A quick field guide, based on scars.
- Mistake 1: Sending a WeChat screenshot as your logo. It prints blurry, we ask for vectors, two weeks vanish.
- Mistake 2: Negotiating price before the spec is nailed. You can’t quote what’s undefined. Tell us shape, color, logo colors, and packaging first.
- Mistake 3: Treating packaging as an afterthought. A polybag is fine; a printed box is where your unboxing content happens. Budget for it early.
Rule of thumb: your quote gets faster the more decisions you make in your very first email.
The Bottom Line
Private-label powder puffs are a low-risk way to add a branded, repeat-purchase SKU: 5,000 pieces to start, your logo on the ribbon, colors matched to your brand, samples in under a week, and bulk production in about a month.

Send us your puff shape, a vector logo, and your Pantone (or a photo of your dream puff), and we’ll send samples and a quote — usually within 48 hours.
